Japan coach Takeshi Okada has ordered his players to breathe oxygen in order to better prepare the World Cup, thereby strengthening their resistance at high altitudes. Japanese TV noted qu'Okada, whose team will play two matches more than 1000 meters, will ask his players to breathe pure oxygen daily. "Players will use cans of oxygen in small doses for one hour a day," said Okada to Nikkan Sports. "They can use cans of oxygen while watching TV," he added.
The Japanese will play in preparation for the World Cup several friendly matches. On May 30 against England in Austria, and June 4 against the Ivory Coast in Switzerland. The Blue Samurai, who have never won a match of a World abroad, are in Group E with Denmark, the Netherlands and Cameroon.
